It will ride a wave with no problem, but if you are over 175lbs then do not buy this. You will need wax so you will have more traction and you will need to ride the "back" of the board. No toes on the nose here!!! Also, bring epoxy in case it delaminates anywhere. What bothers me is that the board did not show up in "Retail Packaging". It was wraped in tape, bubble wrap, and plastic wrap. The accessories were taped to the top. I at least expected a box. But, the damage is not worth the hassle of a retun. I do like the weight and feel of the board, it is easy to control and won't cut you if it hits you or more importantly someone else!!!! Of course there is no stringer so it likes to flex, it might bend but it won't break. For the price it beats any "boogie board", so if you want to graduate to surfing or just need someting inexpensive that you are not worried about messing up then this is a good value.
